Cookies great, Amazon not so great. August 30, 2010 jcodington I love these cookies and have ordered them before, but never from Amazon. Because I was eligible for Super Saver Shipping, my order came crammed in a box with my other items that ended up completely crushing almost half of my breakfast cookies. I would not recommend ordering these from Amazon, unless they are the only thing you are going to order. I have ordered on Bakers Box in the past, and will do so in the future.......Cookies get five stars, Amazon gets one!
Great chocolatey breakfast cookies August 15, 2010 K. LEWIS I send these to my boyfriend once a month when they are in stock - he just loves them. He's a big guy, and one is enough for breakfast.
MOLD ISSUE!! July 10, 2010 J. Reynolds 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I am "subscribed" to this product to receive a shipment monthly. The first two were fine, the cookies were soft and tasty. The last shipment had mold on every cookie. There are other complaints of mold on here, which shouldn't even be a problem if they are STORED CORRECTLY. These cookies are all natural and need to be refrigerated. I guess no matter how many times people complain to Amazon about getting moldy cookies, they still aren't correcting the storage situation!! So that really bothers me, and I don't think I'll be ordering any more of these until they fix the problem. It's quite disgusting.
These breakfast cookies were a wonderful surprise! June 15, 2010 K. Pearsall 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I happily stumbled upon Erin Baker's Breakfast Cookies while browsing around on Amazon. I had never heard of them before. Studying the comments, I ordered the 3oz cookies, two packages of double chocolate chunk and one of candied apple. They arrived in a flash! Both flavors are excellent but I am a dyed-in-the-wool chocolate aficionado, so those are my favorite treats. I have been looking at other so-called "diet cookies" and "breakfast bars" since my boxes arrived. I now know that I am getting the best cookies, the best value and the best breakfasts that I have ever known! Would that my mother had been able to buy these during WWII--I could have escaped the horrible Spam, the too-crispy eggs and the watery mush.
Erin, I am so glad I found ye!
a cookie? June 5, 2010 M. P. Gill 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
This item is not like any cookie I've ever met. I am not sure what to call it. It's large, 3 oz. and 300 calories. It looks like a thick patty. It is dense and chewy. I bought the double chocolate chunk flavor. It has a mild cocoa flavor with notes of prune and bitter coffee. It is only slightly sweet, and has a hint of medicinal quality. Though listed in the ingredients, I could not find a single chocolate chunk that was large enough to differentiate from the rest of the heavy, soft patty. Most of the doughy thing is chewable but there are small grains of something that are distinctly harder and got caught in the cusps of my molars.
If you are too busy to enjoy your food or can't taste anything anyway, maybe these are for you. For me, when I spend 300 calories, even on the run, I want something that makes my mouth happy. Half a whole wheat English muffin, a tablespoon of natural peanut butter, half a banana sliced on top. All around better! And no messier to eat because these patties are crumbly and a slightly sticky. You'll have bits on your upholstry and traces on the steering wheel.
Reformulate, Erin! Food should be a healthy PLEASURE.
